The Space programme runs weekly for 3 terms.  Sessions are informal, friendly and provide parents with:
  • Guidance from trained facilitators & other members of the group on all aspects of parenting and
child development in their child's first year of life
  • A safe forum in which they can engage in discussion and share information with each other
  • An opportunity to connect with each other for support
  • Opportunities for their infants to interact and play in a safe environment

The groups are kept small so everyone has a chance to participate in discussion and activities.

A new SPACE programme starts at the beginning of each school term, subject to numbers, so infants in each
group are a similar age and parents can relate closely to each others' experiences.  Session topics include:

  • Getting to know you and your baby
  • Understanding baby (crying & communication)
  • Becoming a parent
  • Sleeping
  • Understanding thinking
  • Reflective parenting
  • Establishing attachment
  • What do I see & What do I hear?
  • Movement & Music
  • Heuristic play
